Minis vs. Seniors

This year’s 4th Annual Powder Puff Game could not have been more perfect. The sun was shining, the skies were clear, and the weather was gorgeous. If you’ve been around for past games, you know this was a huge blessing—because let’s just say we’ve had our fair share of “memorable” weather moments. One year we had to literally run for cover when a tornado started to roll in out of nowhere, and another year we got completely drenched by a surprise rain cloud. But this year? Pure sunshine and good vibes.

We kicked things off with my Minis, starting their session on the bleachers for individual portraits (because wow—the field was a little too sunny at that point). Once the Seniors rolled in, we grabbed some fun group shots before heading into the main event…the Powder Puff Game: Minis vs. Seniors.

The game was intense from the very start. Seniors came out swinging, with AR scoring the first touchdown of the night. But the Minis weren’t backing down. Clara, who was a Mini last year when her team lost to the Seniors, was on a mission this year. She connected with Madison for a touchdown, tying it up and proving she was there to win.

Second quarter, the Seniors tried to reclaim the lead with a long pass back to AR, but the catch just didn’t land. The Minis saw their chance—and they took it. Another touchdown sealed the deal. Clara spiked the ball in celebration and the Minis walked away victorious for the very first time in Powder Puff history!

After the game, the Minis said their goodbyes, and it was time for the Seniors to shine. We headed back to the bleachers for their individual portraits, then wrapped up with some fun, carefree friendship photos out on the field.

And honestly, that’s what makes these Rep Team events so special for me. It’s not just about the photos (though they’re always amazing), or even the games. It’s about seeing these girls build friendships and confidence throughout the year. Watching them bond—many of them starting out as total strangers—is hands-down my favorite part of this whole program.

This year’s Powder Puff Game will definitely go down as one of my favorites: sunshine, laughter, touchdowns, and a team of girls who continue to make my heart so full.
